Steyr Mannlicher Schoenaur Model 1961 MCA Bolt Action Sporting Rifle

Chambered for the 243 Winchester Center Fire Cartridge

This fine quality vintage rifle bearing serial number 34xxx was one of the earlier Steyr Daimler Puch manufactered MCA models completed in 1961, the first year of manufacture for this specific model. For those of you less familiar with these great vintage Austrian Sporting Rifles. The original Austrian Steyr Daimler Puch manufactured Mannlicher Schoenauer rifles were designed with a unique but versatile "Butter Knife Style" bolt handle. This design was like no other rifle design ever made, some experts feel they are the finest bolt action sporting rifles in the world. This fine example that we are offering for auction is in excellent factory original condition, showing just a little good honest use, but has been well cared for over the years. The rifles original high luster bluing remains in beautiful condition with wear at some of the high points, and on the trigger guard area from carrying otherwise it remains excellent over-all. This fine vintage rifle wears a 22” barrel, has a great bore, and is chambered for the ever popular 243 Winchester cartridge. This fine vintage Steyr Sporting Rifle would certainly be a delite to use, with a super smooth action that functions perfectly, and since it was designed with a beautiful set of factory Adjustable Mannlicher Schoenauer Set Triggers, the Trigger pull in excellant also. It has the early style shotgun type safety mounted behind the bolt handle as well as the wing safety that was changed to a tang style in 1963. They added the side safety on this model because if a scope was used utilizing their pre-drilled holes the bolt/wing safety could no longer be accessed. Then in 1963 Mannlicher designed the less expensive and less desirable tang safety that didn't work near as well. This rifle comes with one (1) original 5 round rotary style magazine which retains excellent factory original blue with only light signs thinning. Internally the rifle appears just like new, and functions perfectly with a very strong bolt spring. The rifle has all matching serial numbers on the barrel, receiver, and bolt handle. The model MCA or "Monte Carlo All-Purpose" Sporting Rifles & Carbines were the last rifles manufactured by Steyr Daimler Puch using the factory original designed Spool Type Rotary Magazine. To finish off this fine Sporting Rifle it was equipped with the famous Mannlicher Shoenauer Adjustable double set triggers. This rifle like all Post WWII Mannlicher Schoenauer Rifles was imported into the US by Stoger Arms of NY. Stoger advertised this model in their 1961 catalog for $270, but it was only produced for approximately 10 years, and was last cataloged in 1971 for $340. Compared with other rifles of this time period it was an extremely expensive rifle, approximately 3X the price or more of other bolt action rifles of the era. An added feature of the MCA was the predrilled & taped scope mounting holes which all of these fine rifles had, this was new to Mannlicher rifles and was done to make them more attractive in the US market. After looking at the metal surfaces around the mounting holes, we feel that if a scope was ever mounted to this rifle, it was done with great care and expertise, as it shows no evidence of such today. Since we are aware that scope mounts for the Steyr Mannlicher rifles are not found in every gun shop, we have located an original period "used scope mount" made expressly for the MCA models. The mount can be obtained by us if the winning bidder is interested, and sold at our cost to the winning bidder. All of these rifles were factory drilled and tapped, but it does not appear that a scope was never actually mounted to this rifle, the receiver’s bridge appears mar free and shows no external evidence of ever having a scope on it. The rifle wears the original barrel mounted sights, with a fold down two leaf rear sight, one being for 300 yards. The Front sight is a Gold Bead Style which is mounted by a dovetail on the sight base. The rifle is also designed with a beautiful jeweled bolt body. The original wood stock remains in excellent all original condition with sharp checkering. It does however show careful use with typical scratches and handling marks from hunting, but is still remarkably nice for its age being 50 years old. It has no cracks, splits or issues. The stock measures a 14" LOP to the front trigger which we believe is the correct original length for all of these fine rifles. The fine Walnut stock is finished with the factory original black plastic grip cap and black plastic butt plate installed. The original sling bases are also installed. This is an exceptionally nice all factory original example worthy of some of the finest collections. It would also serve very well as an outstanding North American Bolt Action Sporting rifle. You will find the 243 Winchester Cartridge not only cost effective to shoot, but very accurate with quite proficient knock-down power for some large and most small game.

"Ultra Rare" Winchester Model 43 Bolt Action Sporting Rifle

Chambered for the .32 Winchester or 32/20 Win. Cartridge

The Winchester Model 43 Rifles were manufactured from 1949 thru 1957 and were available in 4 different calibers, the .22 Hornet, .218 Bee, 25-20, and the 32 Winchester (32-20) cartridge. There is very little written about the Winchester Model 43 as far as company production information on how many of each caliber was actualy made, but there is information, bits and pieces from some very authorative sources, both in publications, and on the internet forum's, archived information from collectors that have collected these rifles since they were originally manufactured. Stating that the .22 Hornet, and the 218 Bee calibers were the most common calibers to be found. Mainly because they were the most popular calibers at the time, with the 25-20 falling in 3rd, and the .32 Winchester 32-20 being alot more scarce than the other three. Most older and experienced collectors have only encountered at most, a couple of the .32 Win. 32-20 caliber rifles over their lifetime of collecting making the .32 Winchester 32-20 caliber Model 43 Winchester one of the Rarest, most Valuable, and Collectable Winchester Firearms on the market. No! it is not as popular as a Winchester model 73, or a Model 76, but it is still a very rare Winchester firearm that most collectors would love to have. The over-all condition of this beautiful vintage Winchester Rifle is just about new! The only thing keeping this great old rifle from being new is one small rub mark on the barrel, may I add it is not even through the finish. Otherwise we have seen guns coming from the gun manufacturers new in the box that have more handling marks on them than this one does. Compared to most Winchester Model 43's this one is in superb over-all condition, and has been well cared for. How many just about new Winchester Model 43's have you encountered chambered in 32 Winchester? Not many I will bet!

Remington Model 700 BDL Custom Deluxe Sporting Rifle

Manufactured September 1983

Featured in this listing is a beautiful Remington Model 700 BDL Custom Deluxe Bolt Action Sporting Rifle chambered in the famous 30-06 Springfield caliber. It is a beautiful vintage rifle that was pre-owned so it is being “sold as used” This rifle serial # B 6490738 is wearing a barrel date code of “DD” which was manufactured September of 1983 according to Remington manufacturing records. This is a beautiful 27 year old gun, and appears virtually unused. There are a couple very light handling marks on the barrel just behind the front sight possibly from taking it in and out of a safe or gun cabinet. The bore and chamber are perfect, and appears to have been test fired only. The rifle functions just like a new rifle, the anodized floor plate appears as new, and the bridge is clean with no markings or damage from a previously mounted scope. The rifle wears a 22” barrel that is chambered in the favored 30-06 Springfield cartridge. This famous cartridge will shoot a 150gr bullet at just over 2900ft/sec, and a 220gr bullet at 2500ft/sec. Just a great all around cartridge for just about any North American big game animal. This cartridge was tested by the military back in 1906 at distances out to 1100 yards (1km) as that is what the military required of the cartridge. Easily one of the very best center fire rifle cartridges ever developed. In production 100 years and counting! I hope you found this little bit of history on this famous round informative. Now back to the rifle. The factory original custom deluxe walnut wood stock is exceptional with only a couple handling marks keeping it from being as new. The Deluxe Checkering is sharp and the wood has excellent figure (grain). The stock measures the original 13 ¼” fitted with the original 4 screw Remington butt plate installed. The Remington 700 action is one of the greatest modern bolt action designs ever produced. That added with the deluxe features of the BDL Custom Deluxe package makes for one of the most awesome rifles ever produced. If you enjoy the outdoors and love hunting this is a must have for your collection. You will find it very hard to improve on for a nearly 30 year old gun. One of the nicest we’ve seen in quite a while. Don’t miss it! Additional photos are available at your request.

Pre 64 Winchester Model 70 "Super Grade" Bolt Action Sporting Rifle
Chambered for the famous 30-06 Springfield cartridge and manufactured in the 1950's

This is truly one of the finest all original Winchester Super Grades we have seen. It is in splended condition, showing very little use, and has been very well cared for by the original owner. The bore , action, foreplate, trigger guard, bolt, blueing on the barrel, is all about perfect. The AAA Grade wood Stock has one very minor hairline crack running from the front swivel to the forend cap, possibly caused by age or dry storage. The checkering, and finish is in superb condition and over-all we can only say! This is one beautiful Winchester, and would be difficult to up-grade. The rifle was in a private collection since it was new!

Weatherby Mark V Deluxe Bolt Action Rifle

Chambered in .300 Weatherby Magnum centerfire cartridge

This fine 1984 Vintage rifle, with Beautiful Wood is about new in every respect, with only three very minor blems, one very small nick in the wood by the reciever, a mark "not through the finish" where a scope mount was on it from the factory, when a scope is remounted you will not see it, and a small rub on the fore plate. Otherwise it is great, and would make a great rifle for any Weatherby Collection.

Remington Model 700 BDL "Custom Deluxe" .308 Bolt Action Rifle
Very Early Production Made in May 1972

This is a very difficult rifle to find for a couple reasons, first it is in .308 Winchester Cal., second it is 37 years old, and third over-all it is in exceptional condition, but in general, it is one fine rifle. Over the life of the rifle, it was well maintained and cared for, the bore is clean, the action & workings are crisp & tight, and the over-all cosmetics are very nice other than a few handling marks from moving it around where it was stored through the years. This great old Remington would make a fine investment piece, or a nice addition to your Remington Collection.

Weatherby Model Mark V "Custom" Bolt Action Rifle

Chambered in .270 Weatherby Magnum cal.

manufactured in Japan, approximate date 1980

This is a beautiful vintage Weatherby that has not been altered in anyway. It has a great wooden stock with outstanding grain, and retains all of its factory finish, with no age cracking of the lacquer.  However it does have a couple of handling scratches on the stock, possibly from taking it in or out of a safe. One thing for sure it wasn't used much! The rifle has all of its factory blue finish, wears a 26" tapered barrel, jeweled bolt, and custom engraved foreplate inscribed with the words Weatherby Custom.  The stock wears a factory instaled Weatherby recoil pad, fine line factory checkering, and Factory Custom AAA grade wood grip cap and forend cap.

Winchester Model 75 "Military Issued" Bolt Action Target Rifle

chambered for .22 Long Rifle Cartridge

This is one of the great vintage Winchester Classic "Military Issued" Model 75 Target Rifles bearing serial number 279XX was manufactured according to Winchester production records in 1941. It was one of the first U.S. Military Contract Model 75 training rifles delivered. The U.S. Orders ran from 1941 thru 1946, and the exact number of rifles manufactured for the military is unknown. However according to the Winchester production records for the Model 75, this rifle was manufactured in 1941 making this gun one of the first guns shipped on the original U.S. contract starting in 1941. This beautiful example remains in outstanding all original condition, and retains nearly all of its original U.S. Military Parkerized or Phosphate Matte Finish. Going by the rifles over-all general appearance it is our opinion that it saw little if any actual use. Those who collect U.S. Military weapons realize that the non-glare military arsenal applied finishes mark very easily when bumped, cleaned, or used, and show nearly every mark regardless of how carefully they were handled. This particular rifle shows no appreciable wear from use, and only a couple very light marks possibly from moving around in storage. Even the bolt handle and body have nearly all of their arsenal finish. For a military contract training rifle where many typically saw lots of hard use, this particular example is in remarkably good condition considering it was from one of the earlist contracts! The Bore is fantastic and the rifle functions like a new one. It wears all of the correct arsenal markings consisting of an “AA” for Augusta Arsenal on the left side of the stock just below the action, large and Small “P” Acceptance Markings on the front of the pistol grip, and a “B” Acceptance Mark on the base of the pistol grip. There is also an “A4” on the left side of the stock that was likely a U.S. Military Rack Number. This nice vintage rifle wears a 28” barrel, and is chambered for .22 Long Rifle cartridges. The Barrel markings on the left side are as follows, “ MADE IN U.S.A. WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. – MODEL 75 - WINCHESTER (OVER) NEW HAVEN.CONN – PATENT PENDING – 22 LONG RIFLE – TRADE MARK – “ Receiver marking “ WINCHESTER – TRADE MARK – “ Barrel band is marked “U.S.A. PAT PEND” with the Serial number stamped on the right side of the front bridge. The rifle is factory drilled and tapped for a scope, and has the Winchester Proofs perfectly aligned on the left side of the barrel just as they should be on factory drilled and tapped rifles. We see no other markings on the gun. It wears the very best Winchester sights offered at that time consisting on the Winchester 99-A Telescope Height, hooded front sight, with a post insert. It also wears a Winchester # 84-A Extension Style Peep type rear sight. The sights also have a U.S. Military Arsenal Finish matching the rest of the rifle. Over-all this is a very special rifle! The factory original wood is in outstanding condition and wears a proper U.S. mil-spec. non-glare finish just like any military rifles of the period wore. The rifle is completely correct and all original. The Stock is finished with a matching Phosphate finished Steel Butt Plate attached. This nice vintage trainer is truly in remarkable condition for a U.S. Military Contract Winchester Model 75 Target Rifle. It is the nicest Winchester 75 U.S. Training Rifle we have seen in a very long time. You will look a life time, and possibly never see another Winchester 75 Trainer that remains as nice and original as this one has. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to add it to your collection.
